French Alps Ski Trip: 3-Day Itinerary for Méribel, France

Fresh powder, Instagram-worthy backdrops, chic restaurants, & famous après bars, need we say more? Méribel, France has all of this and more. Nestled in the heart of the Three Valleys, this ski resort is our favorite in the French Alps.

We've broken down the perfect 3-day itinerary including where to stay, what to do, and how to get there:

THE ITINERARY

Day 1 // Paint the town siren red

  • Check in to your hotel (we recommend Hôtel La Chaudanne for a central location), but anywhere in the town center or close up the mountain will do (you really can't go wrong)
  • Grab a drink & some tapas at Copiña right in town - it's a super cute & cozy wine and tapas bar that is the perfect place to start off your night
  • Head to dinner at La Taverne Bar & Restaurant - the downstairs restaurant has amazing food and live musicians. This spot is great for a date night, or a large group - it won't disappoint no matter who you're with
  • To keep the party going, head over to The Pub at Hotel Doron. Again there is usually live music and this is a fun/divey atmosphere

Day 2 // See you at the après

  • Let's get this party started. Suit up in your Siren Ski Suit & head to Rond Point for a fresh-baked croissant and an Irish coffee. The Ronnie (as the locals call it) is right off the Rhodos lift & is one of the best spots in town (you'll see it again in this post)
  • Spend the day skiing  Méribel (and taking cute IG pics obviously)
  • Save some energy for the après because this is THE après, enter: La Folie Douce. You've probably seen this famous mountainside club on TikTok - live DJs accompanied by a sax player, dancing on the tables, endless champagne - it's everything you want & need in an après. Try to stay at a tipsy level 4/10 because you will need to ski a blue run to get back down. If you want to get lunch before you après (recommended), La Folie Douce has a restaurant side called La Fruitere - you can make reservations on the LFD website
  • After the party that is La Folie Douce, you'll probably need some wind-down time & a shot of espresso before your second night out on the town
  • For dinner, head to Fifi for a super chic Italian dinner (with a bottle or two of wine, of course)
  • Call it quits early so you can do it all again the next day

Day 3 // Get in loser, we're going skiing

  • Step 1: Siren Ski Suit, obviously
  • Then you're going to head over to Courchevel for the day - you can easily reach this from Méribel by taking one of the gondolas over (don't worry, there are signs) - pro tip: bring your Ski Club Flask on the gondola to spice up your ski day
  • Spend the morning/early afternoon exploring Courchevel side of the mountain
  • Stop for a drink at Baïes Courchevel - they have a super chic outdoor patio and a ski valet.. this is the French alps after all
  • Now for the après, you can call ahead for a rez at Bagatelle if you're feeling bougie, but if you'd rather something a bit more low-key, you can make your way back to Rond Point where they have live music, a snack bar, and a full outdoor patio
  • Unwind with a massage at the Nuxe Spa before a casual dinner at La Fromagerie (you didn't think we'd let you leave without cheese fondue, did you?)

WHERE TO STAY

Planning out where to stay will be one of the most important parts of ensuring your trip goes to plan. It's pretty difficult when looking at Google maps to figure out what is what - rightfully so, considering there is a mountain range to consider.

You'll want to stay in Méribel center or within a 20-minute walk from Méribel center (you can use Copiña as your starting point for the city center and work your way out from there). There is another section or Méribel that is called Méribel Mottaret. This is a small little community further up the mountain towards the Val Thorens side of the Three Valleys. While it does have some good hotels, it's definitely not the center of the action. There are a few bars and restaurants, but we recommend staying in proper Méribel.

HOW TO GET THERE

The easiest way to get to Méribel is to fly into Paris and take the train to Moutiers Salins Brides Les Bains. You can arrange to have a taxi pick you up and drive you to Méribel which is about 15-20 minutes away.

Another option would be to fly into Geneva and take either the train or bus to the Three Valleys.

The Three Valleys is known for being one of the best places to ski in the world and it definitely lives up to its reputation. Add Méribel to your bucket list and you won't be disappointed.
